Taxon overview

Order HELIOLITIDA, Upper Ordovician - Middle Devonian. Corallites are separated with coenenchymal tissue (tubules, dissepiments) but not in some Halysitinae and the number of septa or septal spines is 12. They are devided into suborders Heliolitina (Fig. 3) ja Halysitina (Fig. 4).
