Species

Treptichnus meandrinus Uchman, Bromley et Leszczyński, 1993

Taxon description

Uchman et al., 1998

Diagnosis: Treptichnus having a regularly meandering course.

Description: Convex hyporelief arranged in first order meanders. These first order meanders display a transition from a smoothly guided string through low second-order zigzags to low second-order zigzags bearing short protrusions. The protrusions are aligned as short extensions of the individual elements of the zigzag structure, i.e. on alternate sides of the burrow. The first-order meanders are 5-10 mm wide and have an amplitude of 20-30 mm. The elements of the string are 0.9-1.2 mm in cross-section. Locally the course becomes irregularly winding or straight (Fig. 2).
