Caupokeras calyptos McKinney, 2009
McKinney, 2009
Diagnosis: Gently curved bioclaustrated tubes about 2 mm long, about 0.15 mm diameter proximally to 0.5 mm distally.
Description:Tubes typically located atop keels extending from frontal surface of branches in fenestrate bryozoan colony, occasionally on reverse side of branches; tubes about 2 mm long and expanding from about 0.15 mm in diameter at point of origin to almost 0.5 mm at the distal end; individual tubes gently curved through less than 90° arc, always or almost alwaysoriented distally toward the growing edge of the bryozoan colony; characteristically budding alternately right and left; where paired budding of tubes occurs, the parent tube may be inflated more than usual, with a constricted distal terminus at the end of a short, tapered neck.
