The present Orthogonum fusiferum are primarily perpendicular branching, substrate-parallel networks of thin (2-3 µm) galleries with occasional swellings at the branching points and diagnostic intercalar swellings of 4-7 µm in width and about 10-12 µm in length (Fig. 8G-H).
