Taksoni iseloomustus

Üksik- ja koloonialised rugoosid, septaaltrabeekulid suured, marginaarium koosneb kas äärisest, mille sklerenhüümses lamellaarkoes on nähtavad trabeekulite tuumad või väikeste põiekestega dissepimentaariumist. Septid koosnevad enamasti eraldunud trabeekulitest, mis sageli algavad põiekestelt. Taabulad on lamedad ja täielikud või koonilised või ebatäielikud. Ordoviitsiumist Devonini.

Olulisemad sugukonnad: Lambelasmatidae, Tryplasmatidae, Cystiphyllidae.
