Diagnosis Oichnus having a simple cylindrical or subcylindrical form, oriented more or less perpendicular to the substrate surface. The external opening is surrounded immediately by a halo having a granular texture.
Description. Diameter of the holes ranges from 12 to 25 urn. Within the same specimen of O. coronatus isp. nov., the halo may range from 2 to 24 urn in width. O. coronatus isp. nov. has been observed in benthic foraminiferans.
