Species
Caulostrepsis contorta Bromley et D’Alessandro, 1983
Taxon description
Bromley & D'Alessandro, 1984
Diagnosis. Boring curved in a sinuous U-shape or ear-shape to produce complex structures consisting of lobes. Normally, a lobe or series of them is curved within a plane or twisted along its axis. Vane well developped. Generally the lobes are connected in such a way that each individual element lies in a different plane, sub-parallel or rotated in respect to its nieghbour. Aperture apparently simple 8-shaped.
Botquelen & Mayoral, 2005
Description. Boring network produced by a cylindrical gallery subdivided into U-shaped (7 mm wide and 13 mm long) and S-shaped (4 mm wide and 8–17 mm long) lobes. The inner edges of the limbs are connected by a vane. Lobes are connected to each other, and each lobe is subparallel to its neighbour, but lies in a different plane.
