Genus

Conotubus hemiannulatus Zhang et Lin, 1986

Taxon description

Cai et al., 2011

Emended diagnosis: Gently curved conotubular fossil, with an open aperture and a rounded apex  that often penetrates into sediments. The rounded apex appears to be anchored in sediments. Original tube wall probably not mineralized, and consists of a series of nested funnel-shaped cylinders. The cylinders show some transverse annulations. The cylinders are circular in cross section view. Successive cylinders overlap one other and as many as three cylinders may be encountered at any given transverse section of the tubes.
