Diagnosis. Millimetre to centimetre-sized very shallow depressions on shells. The outline is rounded in small specimens, to irregularly lobate in larger ones. The floor is flat and connects to the surface of the shell by a concave slope which can locally be moderately steep but never forms a perpendicular or overhanging wall
