Taxon description
Description: Horizontal, straight to gently arcuate, endichnial burrows, more or less as wide as high, varying from 10 to 20 mm in width and height, but commonly 10 mm in dimensions. Burrows infilled with friable sand generally finer than surrounding sediment, and which weathers readily to leave a hollow tunnel (Fig. 27). Continuous median ridge along floor of tunnel up to 2 mm high (Fig. 28) but occasionally with a beaded appearance. Lateral furrows often smooth, but sometimes show faint, coarse transverse depressions (about 4 mm wide spaced at 3-mm intervals) perpendicular to the median ridge. Maximum observed length was 300 mm.
