Diagnosis: J- and U-shaped Lingulichnus. J-shaped forms consist of a basal, horizontal to obliquely oriented cylinder that is circular in cross-section and an upper, vertical to obliquely oriented cylinder that is elliptical in cross-section. U-shaped forms elliptical in cross-section along length of burrow. In both forms a cylindrical, central tube, typically sediment-filled, is common within the elliptical tubes.
