Taxon description
Webby, 1970
Description. - Gently curved, narrow primary trails, 3-4 mm wide, and small, oblique, relatively widely spaced offsets, from 6-9 mm apart. Grooves cross primary trail adjacent to each side branch obliquely. P. ? antecedens differs from true Phycodes in lacking the typical bundled, cylindrical tunnel-filling form, but it is allied to P. pedum Seilacher from the Neobolus Beds (Lower Cambrian) of the Salt Range, Pakistan (for comparisons, see Seilacher, 1955, P1. 23, fig. 7 & P1. 25, fig. 3). Compared with P. pedum, however, it has slightly narrower primary trails and somewhat shorter and more widely spaced offsets.
