Taxon description

Klaamann, 1966b

A rare lateral gemmation leads to a development of incommunicate fasciculate coralla. Corallites cylindrical, 4.0—4.4 mm in diameter and do not exceed 25 mm in height. Walls thick, of a lamellar microstructure and thin wrinkly epitheca. The interior structure of corallites complicated, of a syringoporoid type since tabulae are funnel-shaped or form vertical vesicles along walls. In the centre of corallites an axial tube is frequently developed. Septal spinules long, coarse and sunk deep into the sclerenchyme of the walls.
