Taxon description

Diagnosis: Large or medium-sized discoid, solitary rugose coral with a broad calice platform, and a flat-bottomed central pit. The septa are thick and quite numerous. No axial structure and dissepiments were present. The epitheca is thick, septal furrows are strongly pronounced on the sides of the calice. The central zone is free of skeleton elements.
