Animalia incertae sedis

Taksoni iseloomustus

Paljude fossiilide päritolu ja süstemaatiline kuuluvus ei ole lõpuni selge. Seda tähistatakse sageli ladinakeelne väljendiga Incertae sedis. Seega ei ole antud rühma puhul tegemist bioloogilises mõttes taksoniga, vaid kunstliku grupiga, kuhu on paigutatud erinevaid ning tundmatu päritoluga loomariigi esindajate fossiile.
