Genus
Walcottia Miller et Dyer, 1878
Taxon description
Osgood, 1970
Diagnosis.- Slender vermiform trace fossils preserved as convex hyporeliefs which possess obliquely directed paired lobes. The closely spaced lobes are ridgelike and tend to obscure the body. The form tapers at one end and terminates at the other in a structureless ovoid mass. Other forms of the genus are reputedly marked by a shell-like covering composed of small plates or rings, or by a longitudinal groove from which issue five oblique striae.
