Diagnosis.-Conostichus includes conical and subconical biogenic sandstone structures that commonly display duodecimal symmetry on the apex and sides and that have concentric conical or subconical sand laminae internally. There commonly are transverse constrictions and longitudinal ridges and furrows on the sides. They average approximately 65mm in height and 45mm in width, although they range from 40 to 80mm in height and from 30 to 75mm in width.
